Winter is Coming

It's been a fascinating year for me with many wonderful things happening including becoming 60 years old and having grandchildren,. I feel blessed.


Making the most of time, staying focused, being organised and keeping a close watch on the details of your fitness will help you achieve your goals even when you're hard pressed, especially at this time of year. And when the weather is grey and cold.


I have many conversations about energy and how my clients feel. Some-days they tell me that a heavy workout is beyond them and can we take it easy. I always listen carefully to this discussion and then work very precisely to examine the moment and work towards gaining positive outcomes that feel good and build motivation.


However its important not to push too hard as there is always another day and fatigue can lead to many downfalls when trying to maintain ongoing fitness. "Know yourself " I say and check feedback at almost every stage of the workout.


Control when exercising through utilising knowledge , experience and practice is essential, especially when,as the coach, I am not there. Following a clear program and understanding some fundamental requirements of technique, really helps when exercising, that can lead to you feeling empowered by your workout.


The last part I think is to keep taking forward steps, as every one counts. Never give up and focus on what you have achieved. Record your results and keep them to hand when trying to progress your regime. Our bodies are unique and respond differently from one day to the next. Don't be hard on yourself as this may take away some of the enjoyment of exercise.
